Relocating, family and friends, keeping us busy.

Where are we today ?
Yep it was cold this morning took this photo below at 7:30 this morning, frost on the cars. A bit chilly. But fired up our furnace for a few minutes then let the Mr Heater take over getting up to the low 70's in no time flat. Eventually the sun warmed up the outside air and was in shorts again by 10 am.
cool morning
This morning we are relocating 6 miles down the road to brother in laws for a few days so Suzie can spend some time with her mom here. We have another nice spot to park.
All set up here before noon
While setting up we were got a call from my ma, her smoke detector is chirping again. So a quick trip to Waterloo and check whats going on. I just replaced the battery a couple days ago. A little investigating and find out that its the one at the bottom of the stairs, hmm, forgot about that one. So Changed that battery and all seems to be good again. These detectors are 5 years old so should be good for another 5 years but the batteries have not been changed since they were installed. I will put on my to do list to change them twice a year so there should be no more issues with that.
Just as I was leaving we got a call from friends of ours John and Barb from Buckhorn Ontario they were coming to a campground just down the road (Holiday beach) to pick up a tow dolly for their car. Gave us a call and were able to stop by for a short visit before taking the 3 hour drive back home. We visited them earlier this summer at their place and a couple times while we were touring Texas and Arkansa last winter.
Barb, John and their two puppies.
they are heading back home with their (new to them)
tow dolly
Suzie ran a few errands with her mother this afternoon, and I relaxed in the sun with my book for a while and prepared supper here in a real kitchen. It was a strange feeling not to using my Weber Q.
nice kitchen
Tonight I whipped up a hot pork sandwich with gravy, creamy whipped potatoes, cauliflower with cheese sauce and some of her mom's homemade red applesauce.
hit the spot
and desert a snibble (small nibble) of elderberry pie
That was it for another busy day on our agenda,  hanging out with family and friends.
Hope your day was good too. Thanks for stopping in again.

  2. Your mooch-docking spots sure win in my book! What a lucky person you are. You never have to stay so long you get hitch itch anyplace. It's way too cold there though for us.

  7. Boy those temps can sure change rather quickly for you this time of the year. I need to look into getting myself a Mr. Heater for this winter, sounds like a nice little unit. Sure hard to beat that pork sandwich with the gravy and Suzies Mom's applesauce sounds delicious. Looks like another nice spot to stay at for a few days. Have a great Sunday!
