Heat wave, swimming in the pool and in a hockey arena, we have it all here.

Where are we today ?

Yep today is a hot one for sure, my kinda weather 34c (93F) feeling like 43c (109F) with the humidity. 8 am hot and sticky and getting hotter by the minute. First thing this morning we secured our coach and turned it around on our parking spot. Cut a bit of lawn, reset the satellite dish and went for a swim. Then a bite to eat for lunch.
a refreshing dip in the pool
our new campsite facing east
Too hot to cook inside so set up our propane campstove stove to cook the pasta for our salad. We can have that for supper in this warm weather, of course lots for Lea too, she kinda really enjoys it!
so tasty and refreshing,
the recipe is under the recipe tab above
We found a nice cool spot in the shade a
refreshing breeze, perfect, even got to read for a while too.
Suzie getting her doggie fix
I also got to go for another afternoon dip in the pool before supper, so nice in a private pool nobody else here.
Fired up our Weber Q to grill a couple Pork chops
A couple nice tender pork chops and cold pasta salad hit the spot.
this is desert we had last night,
blueberry pie and 4 year old Canadian cheddar.
soo tasty!
After supper up to the Plattsville arena to see Grandson number one, (son of daughter number two) skating tryouts for Atom hockey teams. Nice and cool in the arena but everything was fogged up and sweating. Amazing how much he has improved since last year.
After skating they dropped by"Camp Awesome" to go for a refreshing dip in the pool. Thanks John and Lea for your great hospitality.
Now about 9 pm still about 30 c (87f ) and very hot and sticky. We can fix that , just unplug our electrical cord (it's only 15 amp) fire up our genny and two airconditioners running, in less than 30 minutes think we have icicles hanging from the ceiling. Good for sleeping now, need a blanket. But it will warm up during the night.
Thanks for joining us today and hope you enjoyed the heat wave as much as we did. Think we have another day of it then will set up our Mr Heater.

  1. Can't believe it was so warm there...Durango is rainy and too cool with a high in the upper 60s today!

I always loved to see the grand kids and their activities!

  3. It was pretty warm here today too but not THAT hot! The pool looks very inviting especially when no one else is in it.

  5. Sounds a little warm there but the hockey rink would be a bit of a break.

I'm a sucker for any kind of pie but I do love blueberry!

    1. The rink was nice for an hour, but still hot when we came back outside.

  6. You sure should have gotten cooled off just watching that hockey game with all the ice around. It probably felt good too. I'm licking my lips at all that luscious food you have been eating.

    1. Most of what we eat is homemade and usually tastes pretty good. So easy to do.
