On the road to Texas today! Love it.

Where are we today ?
Finally we are on the road again! Its about time, not used to this sitting in one area for too long, guess we are not ready for it yet. Of course all the cloudy days and rain does not help either.
All packed up and on the road just before 9 am. Only 300 miles to go and all the way along I-12 and I-10. Not much we want to see along here, we have travelled this way many times and have seen most of what we want.
300 miles (482kms) today
Now this feels nice, Suzie and I rolling on down the road in our coach, just bogeying along with the tunes of the 60's on our satellite radio, cruising the open road. Sunshine, and not much traffic many more miles of Louisiana swamps to pass thru and leave behind for another time.
Fema trailers ready for another disaster,
or for sale cheap!
Mississippi River
Across the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge 18 miles thru the Louisiana Swamps.
now here is a house on wheels
Welcome to Texas
Lone Star of Texas
A perfect travel day thou, sunshine, no wind and very warm, gotta love it! At 2:30 we arrived at the Pilot/Flying J in Baytown Texas. Here we fuel up or coach and will park free for the night. The story about this with our credit card we can only do $100.00 at a time. So fuelled up the first 100 dollars at $3.47 a gallon and reinserted the credit card. Our RV loyalty card saves us 2 cents a gallon too. In that short period gas price jumped to $3.57 a gallon, hmmm,  at least we got the major amount of gas at the cheaper price.
Now all settled in, tv channels scanned, computing done, chat with a fellow beside us for a while, from Georgia and whip up supper. They only have Denny's here and we don't much care for them, guess we too fussy. So real simple to cook up a couple boneless chicken breasts, a few noodles with peas and spices, sliced tomato and a chunk of garlic bread, Quick, easy tasty and done just the way we like it, not to mention the service was excellent, and less expensive too.
yummy
Now here we are all settled in, compute read for a while, turn on the tube for a bit, relax and call it a night. Heading on down the road in the morning to Rockport Texas.
Thanks again for stopping in and travelling along with us.

  2. Cute little review about the service being excellent and the price pretty good too. If you do it yourself, it's going to be just like it for sure.

  5. Looked like a nice drive into Texas. Pretty slick move on they had with the gas price. Tasty looking supper even while traveling. Think I would pass on Denny's also, just find me a Cracker Barrel and I would be happy. Have a great Saturday!

    1. Well nothing like that handy unless we disconnect the car. Rather just relax here for the night.

  6. When I fill up I bring my card inside and do a prepay of what I think we will use then my fuel is all at the discounted price. Be Safe and Enjoy the feel of being on the open road.

    It's about time.

    1. We just made the discount because all the other pumps had been changed.
Dn't want to go inside and stand in the long lines.
Use our credit card, loyalty card and Canadian ZIP code. (three number in postal code plus two zeros, works at all Flying J's and even regular gas stations in some states.
