Saturday, sunny and visiting friends again

Where are we today ?
Got an email from Sandy back home at the farm this morning taken outside the front door. This really makes us appreciate where we are now, sure don't miss that white stuff and cold that goes with it, at all!
this morning at the farm
Now this morning upright and breathing, gotta love these kinda days for sure. Watching the sunrise here and a couple walkabouts the resort. Azure blue skies, turquoise waters, big birds, fishing boats its just amazing. The only downside is the cool north winds and water filled campsites.
egret taking flight, too cool !
pelicans and egrets in the trees
Now below is one of the seedless red navel oranges that we bought on Clermont Florida at the market, so sweet and juicy!

After lunch we headed 10 miles down the keys to visit with Jim, Sharon, Rolf and Johnana at Jolly Roger Rv resort. Our friends from western Canada that happened to be in the area. We had then here for our Thanksgiving Turkey dinner on Thursday. Their park has a new heated pool this year and it is just wonderful.
here we all are around the pool
lifelike turtle mosaic
lifelike stingray mosaic too
beside the pool in a tree this eagle was watching us, awesome!
back to their house for a visit and cool down in the shade
Rolf brought Peanut over for Suzie's dog fix
About 3 o'clock we headed back home to relax in the sun with our books for a while, then at 5 headed down to the "Lobster Crawl Bar and Grill". Kinda nice to have a restaurant, bar and happy hour right in the campground. Not too busy, excellent service, reasonable and the food was pretty good too!
waterfront patio ,but was kinda too cool for us tonight
We choose to sit inside because it was a bit chilly in the shade by the water with the north wind. Had a couple of brew, coconut shrimp to nibble on then supper was excellent.
The place reminded me and Suzie so much of my restaurant that I ran for 10 years in the 1990's. One man show fast, efficient and great food. The grill, the fryer and the range hood where I spent 70 to 100 hours a week for 10 years having way to much fun cooking.
While waiting for supper we did catch a bit of the sunset in the distance past the palm trees.
We both choose Mahi Mahi (dolphin), mine deep fried and Suzie's grilled, both excellent choices, with fries and veggies, was soo good.
Then a nice stroll back home to find the tide had risen even more, we are becoming surrounded with by the ocean, sure glad there is no waves out there. Good thing we are 14 inches above sea level !
our island in the campground
A bit more computing and watch the tube for a bit then lets call it a night before the waterlevel gets too high, might get scary if we are watching it !
Thanks for stopping by for a read, our day was awesome hope yours was too.

  1. It's certainly a gorgeous area. I can see you're taking advantage of it too. That's the way it should be.

  4. We never ate at the campground restaurant but the pic looks yummy and I guess we'll have to try it when we get there. I hope a big wave doesn't come by and wash it away. The Jolly Rancher looks like a nice place, probably costs too much.

    1. It is a PA park so can get in half price about $35.00 a night, still too much for us.
