Tues Oct 25th, Ohio to Kentucky

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

Today's Journey
Alliance Ohio to La Grange Kentucky
329 miles (529 kms)
We had a good nights sleep at Laurie and Janice's place nice and quiet on a dead end street. We got up this morning to find frost on our windshield, now this is getting too cold, time to keep moving south.
brrrr
After coffees and computing I posted the blog but made some changes and did not update, it was not entirely visible. A couple emails and instant messages advised me of this so when we stopped for lunch, I fixed the problem. Thanks for keeping tabs on me.
nice drive
still some nice fall colours
The drive was quite scenic and not much traffic, minimal construction and some interesting sights. We are enjoying our Sirius Satellite Radio, now we can tune in a station and it stays with us, Suzie gets her country music all day long, we just have to shut if off when we hit the cities so we can talk. It sure makes the miles fly by, thanks for the radio Mike and Trish.
interesting bridge
Cincinnati Skyline
We have like to fuel up at Flying J, because they are convenient and rv friendly. Last year most were bought out by Pilot Travel centres and they are now Pilot/Flying J. The transition last year was frustrating for customers as well as staff , I am sure. But so far this year fueling in the rv lanes has been a breeze. Insert credit card, then new loyalty card, zip code (for us Canadians the three numbers of postal code and 00 ) has worked at two pump islands so far. Interesting thou Master card has a $100. limit but Visa a $495.00 limit on one transaction.
Walmart for the night
About 3:30pm we decided to call it a day and parked at the Walmart in La Grange Kentcuky. We do the proper thing and ask permission to park for the night, do a little shopping (I bought a new zippered hoody for $10.00!). Then back home to scan some tv channels and have a cool beverage. I enjoyed the 75f (23c) sunny afternoon, in my shorts and sandals by cleaning the bugs off the front of our coach (warmer weather bugs!). I like the bugs.
tasty supper
Now its time to whip up supper. I had pre cooked some ground chuck a fews days ago for quick meals while on the road, so tonight's was an easy tasty Hamburger Helper, we don't very often use many prepackaged mixes but it was convenient, quick and easy.

Then a bit of tv and call it a night.

  1. Hi George. Do you want to explain that postal code thing a little more?

  3. Larry:

In Canada we have a six digit postal code, 3 letters and three numbers. A lot of places we have been allow us to use the three numbers in our postal then add two zeros after that giving us a five digital Zip code and it works most of the time.

    Kevin and Ruth:

Yes shorts and T shirt weather is what we like too.
