Mon. Apr. 11th, 2011 Still at Styx River resort

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer,
 since August 2006

Happy Monday!

Yes it is the beginning of a brand new week, wonder what adventures will happen? One thing we know is on thursday morning we will be on the road heading slowly (eight days) northbound back to Canada , family, friends, cold weather, expensive gas, food and beer. And as expensive as it is we do look forward to seeing everybody again, we might even miss the warm sunny weather just a bit (probably a big bit). But summertime there is quite nice, just way too short.

This morning was hot and humid again, (love it!) and the resort was much quieter, a lot of weekend people and children gone. Computing and walkabouts and a nice drive to the Piggly Wiggly in Loxley for a few food items. Then back home for a bite to eat and a walkabout exploring more of the resort in the afternoon.

We followed the nature down towards the river.

Then back up the stairs and wander about the west end of the park, we discovered the Banquet Centre /Church nestled in the trees, church service and pot luck dinners take place in this facility.

Then back home to relax and read in the shade for a while and at 4 visit with Emile and Monique for happy hour and solve a few more world problems. Back home we fired up the barbie and as I prepared and cooked supper (pork chops, rice pilaf, salad and grilled asparagus) Denis and Sandy dropped by for a visit and chat for a bit.

We have a severe weather warning for  tonight so after supper we rolled up our awnings, and stored the tables and chairs, just in case. The tv was tuned to local channels tonight, that way we can watch the path of the storm as it passes thru the counties, (updates flash on during the regular programming), it was far enough away from us, we just had high winds and heavy rains. Enough wind to move the head of our satellite dish again as we found out in the morning.
