Halloween Decorations
Saturday morning started quite mild and sunny promising to be a great day, we were out chatting with the neighbours again. About 10:00 am Bill took us for a drive to this great store Adventures in Heat that has the most amazing and thorough variety of hot sauces and spices, from flavourful to some so hot that not even I would try them. From here he took us to the Clarence Centre  Volunteer Fire Company where he has been a volunteer for over 38 years.
Bill gave us a complete tour of this amazing modern facility with all the latest in firefighting equipment, many vehicles, offices, banquet hall, meeting rooms, exercise room, lounge and bar, outdoor pavilions, gazebos and even a baseball diamond. If Clarence Centre sounds familiar it is because on Feb. 12th 2009 there was a plane crashed into a house here (about 5 houses from the fire hall) killing 50 people.

Back home to the resort the clouds were now in the sky but it was fairly warm. This is a big Halloween celebration weekend here and almost every one, especially the hundreds of children are dressed up in some kind of costume. Many campsites elaborately decorated, and there was a huge lineup for the hay wagon taking people for rides around the campground to see the sights. We had a nice campfire going and Bill had a huge pot of his homemade chowder for supper tonight for the bunch of us. Trick or treating was from 4:30 to 6:30 pm and right on schedule at 4:30 pm the rain began! Well everyone was prepared with umbrellas, we were all there with the candy and so were the kids with the bags and costumes. The evening progressed, with the rain not letting up, the puddles getting deeper and the mud slipperier, but we had umbrellas, a nice roaring fire, and friends to chat with, what more could we want? Well maybe dryer and warmer, but we take it as it comes.
