Fri. April 2nd Cherokee Landing Tennesee

Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August. 2006

360 Miles today

We left Millwood Landing in Arkansas at 8:10am just before it started to drizzle a bit. Headed south a for a while crossed a state line into Texas then back into Arkansas and east on I-30 Little Rock Arkansas, then I-40 towards Memphis Tennessee. some interesting road signs as well along the way. Here we headed south a bit and crossed into Mississippi for a while, then back into Tennessee and thru some Tennessee back country for a while to Cherokee Landing RV park, arriving at about 3:30pm.

Nice huge park (279 spots) but only 15 sites with electric, water and sewer and not very good for larger rvs. All the other sites have electric and water and are much larger and level. We had our choice as only a few Rv's here (they only opened for the season April 1st). We pulled up to the gate and had to use a CB radio in a box there to call a young lady to check us in. She took our info, gave us a map of the park and told us to drive around and pick any sight we wished. Also that not much to do in the area other than Memphis (75miles away) then gave us a book on sights to see there.

We set up near the washrooms and laundry, also another couple that we met at Millwood Landing in Arkansas, (Denis and Sandi from Quebec). The weather here was awesome, 85f (30c). After set up we enjoyed a nice supper of garlic sausage, mashed potatoes and mixed veggies, then relax with a book and a tv show.

Could be here for 5 to 7 days, will see how our plans evolve, maybe stop at Nashville for a couple of days after here.
